Bringing scientists together to improve environmental sustainability and human health
The International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) Research Foundation is a non-profit organization that advances and disseminates science for public benefit.
We convene scientists from public, private and academic sectors to address scientific issues that are relevant to human health and environmental sustainability. The results of those discussions are disseminated through publication, capacity building education and stakeholder engagement.
The ILSI Research Foundation’s programs are conceived of and implemented for public benefit.
The ILSI Research Foundation actively seeks out and promotes partnerships believing the best scientific work is done collaboratively with a range of diverse stakeholders.
The ILSI Research Foundation believes in a transparent scientific process where hypotheses and experimental design are developed collaboratively and openly, and research outcomes are made publicly available.
The ILSI Research Foundation follows the ILSI Code of Ethics and Organizational Standards of Conduct which outlines the principles binding the organization to rigorous, peer-reviewed scientific investigation and scientifically balanced, evidence-based work products.
The ILSI Research Foundation understands that in order to be effective, science-based solutions to environmental and human health concerns must be relevant and accessible around the world.
Building Effective Partnerships
Established in 1984, the ILSI Research Foundation has long been an international leader in building effective public-private partnerships by ensuring that it’s programs are collaboratively developed and implemented with scientists from government, academia, private sector, and non-governmental organizations.
The ILSI Research Foundation is part of the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI), a worldwide network of non-profit organizations that encourage multi-sectoral dialogue and support collaborative science.
The ILSI Research Foundation is financially supported through grants and donations it receives from public and private sector organizations. Unlike ILSI's country and regional branches, it is not a membership-based organization.
